Title: Seminar on Geographical Indications (GI) Mexico
Description: The organization of the Seminar on Geographical Indications in Mexico, aims to sensitize the participants on the protection of GI. More importantly, it will be an opportunity to promote the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications in order to prepare Mexico’s accession to the said Act. Other objectives of the Seminar will be: - To share best practices on how public authorities can better help local communities in the use of the GI tool; - To increase awareness of the potential of GIs for rural development, exports and rural tourism; - To promote the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications in order to prepare Mexico accession to the said Act.
