Title: Roundtable on Fostering South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Intellectual Property and Innovation
Description: The purpose of the First South-South Roundtable in 2022 was to take a fresh look at WIPO’s work in this area and encourage new South-South and Triangular Cooperation initiatives in the field of IP through sharing of experience and expertise. One of the recommendations that emanated from that Roundtable was to continue providing a space for experience sharing and holding similar events on a regular basis. In pursuance of the above recommendation, a second Roundtable on “Fostering South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Intellectual Property and Innovation” will be held at the WIPO Headquarters, on May 15, 2023. The second Roundtable will build on the conclusions of the first event and will have two main objectives, namely: (i) to determine the primary thematic clusters around which future South-South and Triangular Cooperation initiatives will be encouraged and implemented, and (ii) set the direction of a High Level event, to be potentially held in 2024.
