Title: Promote WIPO Re:Search and Recruit New Member Companies in Japan
Description: As envisioned in the approved Global Challenges Division (0051) Work Plan 2018, Expected Result VII.1, Activity W10492: Mobilize resources, to include recruitment of new members (emphasis Japan & South America), it is proposed that the new Director of the Global Challenges Division, Amy Dietterich, and the Head of Global Health, Charles Randolph, travel to Japan, Tokyo, from October 21-26, 2018. The main aim of the mission is twofold: to meet current WIPO Re:Search consortium members Takeda and Eisai – both major multinational Japanese pharmaceutical companies and core elements of the consortium’s private-sector support base—and recruit new Japanese members. This long-planned trip results from collaboration with our Japanese hosts, the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA), and Bio Ventures for Global Health (BVGH).
