This memorandum requests your approval for a Mission to New York City, USA, on March 20 to 23, 2017, to attend and participate in a seminar on emerging public policy issues in health, trade and innovation. The meeting is being convened by the Geneva Network, and will include at least 15 NGOs involved in global public policy related to innovation, health and trade. Please see the attached invitation.
Moreover, it may be possible to arrange several side meetings, both in New York City and, time permitting, Washington, DC, including with representatives of companies that have proposed other areas of cooperation with WIPO, and also to meet with stakeholders in preparation of World IP Day events. The principal focus of the Mission would be the seminar meeting in New York City, thus travel would be from Geneva to New York City, thereby making the Mission more economical as air travel to New York City from Geneva is always in economy class. |
