1. At the twenty second session of the Meeting of International Authorities under the PCT (MIA) in Tokyo in February 2015, the National Institute of Industrial Property of Chile (INAPI) offered to host the 2016 sessions of the MIA and Quality Subgroup. It is thus proposed to hold the twenty third session of the MIA in Santiago from January 20 to 22, 2016, with an informal meeting of the MIA Quality Subgroup taking place before the MIA on January 18 and 19, 2016.
2. A preliminary cost estimate of expenditures for these meetings is attached. As staff from the International Bureau are expected to act as Secretariat to both meetings (and, in that capacity, will be responsible for the drafting of a Summary by the Chair for both meetings), this estimate is based on participation of three WIPO officials, namely, Mr. Sandage, Mr. Matthes and Mr. Marlow. The total costs will be charged against the sub program for the PCT Business Development Division, except for the travel of Mr. Sandage which will be charged against his travel budget. |
