Main Findings
11% of businesses surveyed affirmed that they had experienced intellectual/industrial property related problems. This percentage was considerably higher for businesses that have applied for patents (with 33% of them having experienced problems), and businesses that could imagine doing so in the future (24%).
Business managers also pointed out that new counterfeit products have appeared: medicines, electronic devices, and auto parts. Still, the fashion and luxury industries are most affected by fakes (apparel: 70%, jewellery/watches: 45%, leather products: 44%).
