Seminar on Collaboration and Negotiation of Cross-Border Research and Development and Technology Transfer Agreements

Organized by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, LES Singapore and The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)
Singapore, Monday, December 6, 2010

Overview

Technology transfer is the all-important intersection between science and business, where technology and innovation are developed into commercially viable cutting-edge products that are sought-after in today’s rapidly changing world. Innovation and intellectual property (IP) are essential to such technology-based research and development (R&D) projects. Protecting technology transfers by agreements requires knowledge and understanding on vital issues such as issues pertaining to associated IP, choice of law clauses and the appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms in order to ensure success for all parties concerned in such collaborations.

This seminar will bring together leading speakers from industry, universities, research organisations and legal practice to present their perspectives and experience in R&D and licensing agreements, on issues pertaining to agreements in a cross-border context, and provide insight as to likely pitfalls and areas of potential disputes.

This seminar is organized by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, LES Singapore, and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).
