Women in Intellectual Property Administrations

Intellectual Property Offices Headed by Women

Based on information available to WIPO in September of 2007 and published in the corresponding WIPO Directories, out of a total of 401 national and regional industrial property offices and copyright administrations, 97 (24%) were headed by women.

Women headed fifty-five (26%) national and regional industrial property offices, out of a total of 213, and forty-two (22,5%) out of a total of 188 national copyright administrations.

Detailed information may be found in the WIPO Directory of Intellectual Property Offices. It is important to note that some countries have more than one copyright administration and industrial property office, located in different places and headed by different individuals.
