Intergovernmental Committee: Accreditation Process

Decisions on accreditation are made by the Member States at the beginning of each session of the IGC.

Non-governmental organizations requesting to be accredited as an observer at the IGC should send the following information to the Secretariat:

  • a brief description of the organization, including the organization's full name;
  • main objectives of the organization;
  • full address and contact details of the organization;
  • the name of the country or countries in which the organization is primarily active;
  • the name and title of the organization's representative at the IGC sessions, should the organization be accorded accreditation;
  • and the relationship of the organization with intellectual property matters.

All requests for accreditation should be received by the WIPO Secretariat at least two months prior to each session of the IGC, preferably by email at grtkf@wipo.int or by mail to:
