Proposed Activities (2006-2007)

All activities aimed at promoting the use of IP among SMEs will be undertaken in partnership with SME support institutions at the national, regional and international level.   

Maintaining and expanding the content on practical aspects of IP for Business on this website will be continued and enhanced. Multi-media content will be developed and made available both on-line and off-line in the framework of the IP PANORAMA project. 

Workshops, seminars and other tailored activities will be undertaken, based on information material targeting SMEs in specific sectors with export potential and a high demand for IP services (for e.g., biotechnology and software industries). 

Demand-driven assistance will be provided to SME Associations, innovation center networks, business incubators, universities, R&D institutions, professional associations, chambers of commerce and IP offices, in order to promote and enhance the IP-related support services provided to their members, beneficiaries, students and other constituencies. 

Guidelines, best practices models and case studies for inventors, creators, academia, entrepreneurs and SMEs will be developed and disseminated through various media, in particular., this website and the monthly electronic newsletter of the SMEs Division.

Awareness, teaching and training materials and guides, including e-learning content/programs, and customized IP material/content, targeting engineering and management students, entrepreneurs and SMEs, will be developed and training programs based on it, will be organized for key partner institutions and business service providers.
